“I am the Alpha and the Omega – says the lord God – who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty... I am the first and the last...” (Revelation 1:8-17)
News January 2006
Dear friends,
it is a joy to write again with some news of us. It meant to be at the end of 2005, but it has been postponed up to now! So our greetings and love come to you in the name of Him who is the beginning and the end, the First and the Last, our Precious Jesus! Some of you have already heard from us via e-mail, but I send now these news for everyone who follows us in prayer.
ENGLAND
It was a special joy at the end of November to visit England after several years of absence. I was with Filomena, while the ‘boys’ managed to survive on their own for over a week! It was great to see familiar faces, renew fellowship and share about our ministry. Of course our first flying visit was at our daughter Lidia’s place. Glad to say she is doing well with Ross and planning for the future big event which we have been told will be anticipated to July 2006 and it will take place in England! So they’re in the middle of fervent preparations!
Well, Lidia was my proud chaufer as she drove me around England. She proved to be a better driver than her dad is!
It was good to be back at my home church in Hoddesdon, as well as meeting some people around the country during the week we were over. I’m sorry we couldn’t see more of you. Thank you to all of you who made us welcome in different ways!
CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR
Back home things have been busy as usual. We spend Christmas at home having
friends from the Treviso church. At the beginning of the year I was able to
go down to Sicily to visit my dear mum, 84 this year and still managing on her
own.
On the way down I was able to stop in the village where three believers in Riva
come from originally, where there is also a little fellowship. It was good to
meet and encourage the local believers, especially as two of ours where there
as well, Michele and Rocco!
I stopped also to visit Antonio, a young man who had written in the past and followed some of our courses, but then he got sidetracked. He has recently come back to the Lord and written much, so he was eagerly waiting to meet me, as in the past I had never met him personally. He is now in contact with a local fellowship and doing further courses with a friend of his.
Next I was able to stop and see a young couple: I have known the husband since he was a little lad. They were greatly helped by some of our books and encouragements, and so it was good to spend some time with them and be refreshed by their home, food and fellowship.
BOOKS
The book SOME THINGS DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND is now being distributed. Initial response has been good and those who have read it are saying they find it interesting and helpful. As you know, publicity is a big problem for us and we do praise the Lord for the opportunity to have our books advertised for three months in a Christian magazine. They will also be included soon in a special catalogue of Mission activities. Both of these ads cost us some payment, but we need to make them known as the CLC bookshops doesn’t seem to sell much. We were also encouraged by contact with THE HOUSE OF THE BIBLE, the other Christian literature distributors in Italy with whom we were recently able to agree the sale of our books.
Please pray for wisdom in knowing if and when and what on to continue with
the books, as I am stopping for a while.
TREVISO AND RIVA DEL GARDA
Please remember us in the church in Treviso: during the next weeks we will be discussing the new rules; we also have our annual church meeting with new administrative leaders being chosen. The church needs much wisdom in major decisions and value your prayes especially that I may knopw God’s leading as far as my own involvement is concerned.
During the winter time our meetings at Riva are at a more normal time, 8:30 P.M. We are now going through the book of Revelation and it is my prayer we may have a fresh revelation of the Lord Jesus “who is and was and is to come!”.
NEXT
I have plenty of work to catch up with at the office (Government!) as it has been accumulating quite a bit. My shoulder seems to know no rest, in spite of several injections back in October and some physiotherapy, so I must be careful in my activities. At times I feel like giving up, at times I would like to investigate further, please pray for some relief, especially at night! Family life is getting on as usual: Luca and Osea are both involved in some... teaching: Luca teaches breakdance to children, while osea is doing his bit of teaching someone iceskating! Filomena is involved in the church locally as well as looking after some elderly ladies. Nothing regular yet, but it gives her something to be involved in.
At the end of February I plan to go and visit my ‘boys’ in Albania for a few days. Please pray for that time! (See in prayers points).
PRAYER POINTS
Let me share some prayer points I was able to share during
my visit in GB:
Lidia and Ross’ wedding in July 2006
They offered us the possibility to buy our (Council) home: pray for wisdom and funds needed for that Witness to colleagues at work ¨
Discernment in ministries: Riva, Treviso, Italy, Trento, Books, correspondence
Dealing with individuals through letters, phone, books, courses, visits etc.
Ongoing ministry needs to be supplied
The project of building a kitchen and bathroom in a church in Albania (Seman): they still need some money for that!
My evangelistic booklet SEEDS OF HOPE is being distributed in the Italian part of Switzerland; pray for fruit
The distribution of our books: we still need some money for the latest book (€ 3,000) and also for the publicity
God’s will to be done in our lives even when it is costly!
Much love in Jesus

“I am reading your last book: very exciting!” M
“I’ve nearly finished your last book; ....I am enjoying every word of it comparing it with the Bible; even if it brings me many more questions, it fills some gaps in my understanding and brings me closer to Him...” H
Parents teach you to walk, love and smile; but when you open books, you realize you have wings!
